If treated with a little love and respect, this cashmere will last a lifetime.

- Hand wash each piece in water that is neither too hot nor too cold.

- Please use a suitable delicate detergent

- Pastel shades can be washed together, but more vibrant shades should be washed separately.

- After careful rinsing, roll each garment in a towel to squeeze out the excess water, then lay flat to dry. Please do not put your sweaters or cardigans on a hanger to dry, as this may stretch them.

- Can also be Dry Cleaned 

Please take a little care when wearing rough-textured clothing, handbags or jewellery with sharp edges with your cashmere knitwear, as this is what will make it prone to pilling or snags. 

Everything has our gorgeous scallop edge in a contrast color at the end of the sleeves, around the button cuff, at the neck and around the bottom hem.

The buttons on the cardigans are our signature covered buttons .

There is a special button placement on the cardigans - 2 at neck, 3 at bust, 3 at bottom.

The 3 cuff buttons on the cardigan cuff work and are not just for show - so unbutton your cuffs.

The long sleeves are narrow at the wrist to allow for sleeves to be pulled-up.

The round neck is deliberately a little high, but soft and not tight, to allow the scallop edge "necklace" to peek out.

We have chosen to use a two-ply 100% cashmere for these sweaters and cardigans so as that they can be worn year round, even in the summertime. 

The collection has been conceived to be comfortably layered.

Its worth knowing that the number of threads is not a token of a cashmere sweater’s quality, but a question of thickness, and therefore of warmth.

We use only 100% cashmere, as we did not want any manmade fibers to shorten the life of our sweaters, cause unsightly pilling, and make them not properly recyclable. 

All the cashmere used is traceable and the fibers are selected for their particular length and diameter to ensure outstanding quality that lasts a lifetime. 

The fibres are  washed in the very soft water of the Teviot river without using any agent or softeners, before being tightly knitted to create these beautiful pieces. The stability of the knit creates a very firm dense fabric, which may not feel as immediately soft as much of the cashmere sold today, but it will reveal its true softness in time, without loosing it’s size or shape. 

Another huge benefit of using these time-honored methods is that there is very little pilling. 

The cashmere is machine knitted, but every detail of the assembly and finishing is done by hand, by Barrie’s highly skilled teams.
